Lord Camden was connected with ships and voyages in several ways. He was a member of syndicates that supported trade with India and China – there were four East Indiamen with the name Camden from 1760 to 1820.
There was also a Camden that was part of the ‘triangular trade’ between Britain, Africa and the Caribbean. The final Camden went with missionaries to the Pacific ocean. This piece, Camden at Sea, was written for Camden History Society Newsletter.
